REFINED SHEA OLEIN
Refined shea olein is obtained through the fractionation and refining of raw shea butter, extracted from the almonds of the Butyrospermum parkii tree by mechanical pressing. It has a lower melting point than shea butter, being liquid at room temperature.
It has a different fatty acid profile compared to shea butter, with a high content of oleic acid, complemented by stearic acid and linoleic acid, which provides emollient and stabilizing properties. Its high percentage of unsaponifiable matter contributes to its effectiveness in cosmetic products, providing hydration and protection to the skin.
In cosmetics, it is used as a base in creams, lotions, and balms, while in food, it acts as a stabilizer or carrier of nutrients.
