Soybean oil is obtained from the seeds of soybean (Glycine soya), a plant grown mainly in the U.S., Brazil and Argentina. The oil content of the seed is 18%. Epoxidized Soybean oil is obtained by the epoxidation of soybean oil. It is a liquid at room temperature, solidification starts above 10 ° C.

It is used in numerous applications of the plastics industry due to its plasticizer and stabilizer action on PVC. Can also be used as an internal lubricant in industries working with pigments.
