COCAMIDOPROPRYL BETAINE
Obtained from coconut oil or palm kernel oil and dimethylaminopropylamine.
The presence of a hydrocarbon chain together with a polar group at the end of the molecule allows it to act as a surfactant from the amphoteric group and as a detergent.
It is obtained from an aqueous solution with usual CAPB concentrations over 30%.
It is used in the cosmetic industry for the manufacturer of shampoos, shower products, hand soaps.
Its use helps to enhance the increase in foam in formulations.
It has wide applications: antistatic, cleansing, hair conditioning, skin confitioning, surfactant (cleansing, foam boosting), viscosity controling.
