Rapeseed oil is obtained from the seeds of rapeseed (Brassica napus L. / Brassica rapa L.) a shrub that is grown mainly in Europe, Canada, China and the U.S.
There is an oil content of 30-40% in the seed. The refined oil is yellow-brown and shiny. It is an oil with a low viscosity and high smoothness. It is an oil with a high volume of production and it is used in various sectors.
Because of its versatility new uses are continually found in technical fields. It is also used as a raw material in the production of biodiesel (rapeseed methyl ester).
